“Spreads joy everywhere!”
That’s how Chocolate Advisor Joanie Pointer responded when asked to describe Lindt Chocolate RSVP in just three words. Since becoming a Chocolate Advisor, Joanie certainly has spread a lot of joy with Lindt chocolate. But in early 2012, she could not have imagined that in the coming year she would not only start her own Lindt Chocolate RSVP business, she would become a top performer and win an all-expenses paid vacation to Jamaica.
After learning about Lindt Chocolate RSVP while shopping for chocolate favors online, Joanie was immediately excited about the opportunity to sell the premium Lindt chocolate her family has loved for years. Never having worked in the direct selling industry, she had a lot to learn, but had the full support of a family who knew this opportunity was different than others.
Since joining the team in April 2012, she has managed to excel as a Chocolate Advisor while balancing work, church, family and community commitments every day. We asked her some questions about her success:
How do you balance being a Chocolate Advisor with other work and family commitments?
Since joining in May 2012, I’ve discovered by trial and error what works and what doesn’t for both my family and me. The beauty of being a Chocolate Advisor is that it all works around my family/work schedule! I remember Liza (the Midwest Regional Manager) asking me two very important questions, which were helpful in planning my business.
1) How many hours do you want to put in this business each week?
2) How many parties do you want to do in a month?
These were great questions and I had to think them over. I knew my family/work schedule would be changing because school would be starting up again in September and it was my youngest son’s last year in high school. Little did I know that I would also be working around my grandson’s heart transplant in September not to mention my daughter’s wedding in November. Life kept going on and on and got even more complicated, but I still found ways to work it in and around it all.
Balancing being a Chocolate Advisor with other work/family commitments can be easy because the business is very flexible. I am an “independent” Chocolate Advisor. Therefore, it is up to me to:
- Decide how much I want to do or not do
- Make my own hours
- Determine how much money I want to make each month/year
- Adjust this business according to my family/other work commitments
- Stay focused and positive!
